CAHPI Building Inspectors
Quality Inspection
The home inspection profession is an unregulated industry, except in British Columbia and Alberta, making your choice of a home and property inspector more difficult. Fortunately, the Canadian Association of Home & Property Inspectors (CAHPI), the only national home and property inspection organization, has highly qualified inspectors.
CAHPI home and property inspectors that have met the requirements of provincial/regional associations are awarded the professional designation Registered Home Inspector, or RHI. The registered designation is the property of CAHPI, and inspectors must maintain high standards and continuing education to retain it.
Choosing a CAHPI inspector means choosing someone you can trust to objectively and independently provide you with a comprehensive analysis of the home’s and property’s major systems and components.
Knowledgeable & Experienced
CAHPI members know their business. They are trained to objectively demonstrate technical proficiency and report writing skills and have committed to continuing education in order to achieve and maintain their member status.
Members are committed to conducting inspections in accordance with the CAHPI Standards of Practice; committed to abiding by the CAHPI Code of Ethics and are dedicated to providing superior customer service.
Inspections for Any Need
Home sellers also use CAHPI inspectors to gain knowledge of the condition of their home before placing it on the market. Smart home sellers understand that knowing as much as possible about their home's condition makes the selling process much easier.
Anyone who wants to make an informed decision about a house or property based on objective information deserves a professional CAHPI home inspection.
Competent, Credible & Professional
The seven provincial/regional organizations are self-regulating professional bodies of home inspectors. Our members are finding that the professionalism of a home inspector is enhanced through education and sharing of information via publications, meetings, educational seminars and conferences. Affiliation and receiving their designation from a professional organization is the best evidence of an inspector's competence, credibility and professionalism.
